How do I apply to become a volunteer?

Your volunteer position will have to be approved by the tiger project manager and the abbot of the temple.

Were can I apply?

The best thing is if you can come here in person but you do not have the possibility you can start off with sending us an email trough our contact form and we will take it from there.

Does is cost anything?

The only cost that will be incurred by a volunteer is the cost of travel to the temple, renewal of visas, an occasional evening meal, insurance, personal items and any extras like trips to Kanchanaburi

What do I need to bring?

You will need to bring a few old long pants for working with the tigers, basically enough clothes to last the duration of your stay. An overseas calling card would be handy. However most things can be easily and cheaply bought in Thailand, such as, mosquito nets, repellents, antibiotics towels, etc.

Does the Temple have telephone and Internet?

Yes the temple has both internet and a telephone that can be used by volunteers.

Do I get food and room to stay?

In return for volunteering you will receive a room (if one is available at the time) and food. If no room is available we will endeavor to find a home stay at minimal cost to the volunteer. Evening meals are requiring to be bought sometimes but basically the cost of living here ends up to zero.

Do I need to speak Thai or English?

It is not required that you speak Thai but a little will be helpful. English is a must as they are the only two languages spoken here.

How long can I stay?

The length of stay is totally up to you. However, to get the full experience I would suggest at least 3 months. It will also take you a few weeks to get you trained in with the Tigers.

Am I insured?

No there is no insurance and your general travel insurance will not cover working with tigers. But so far no persons have got injured by the Tigers. But expect a scratch or two as they like to play.

How about Visa?

You should have a non-immigrant visa however you can get a volunteer visa or get away with just a tourist visa. The best solution is to apply for it in your home country before coming here.

What experience do I need?

It is preferred that you have some animal handling skill or have done behavior studies but it's not a must. The temple is in great need of skilled and educated staff that has previous experienced with wild animals.

I have a porno website can I donate?

You can donate trough your name but we will not link to you because of the nature of the website and considering and respecting Buddhist values. We will not link to Casino alcohol or tobacco website as well.

Do I get the ownership of Tigers or the temple if I donate?

No of course not the Tiger is owned by the foundations.

Can I deduct tax or vat by donating?

You need to ask the tax government in your country but the Temple is a proper foundation. So it is possible.

Can I give other things then money?

Yes and no, we are sorting out a list of things that we need. You will find it on the first page and on the donating page. If you do not find anything in there just donate money because we know what we need.

I donated $4 last month before but now I am dead last can I donate some more money to come up on the list?

Thank you very much for you donations! Yes of course you can just write to the webmaster in the contact page he sorts you out.

Can I change my links?

No we will not delete the links or change them however if there is nothing there for more then 30 days we will take away the link and name you as a donor instead.

Language you speak?

Many people from different countries visit the Temple every day please give us 3 languages that you speak and can use at least to have a normal conversation.

Relative skills and experience?

Have you worked with Tourists before? Do you know how to handle Tigers? Did you go to veterinarian school? Please give us information that you think can be of use. You do not need to state that you are happy, love animals, respect Buddhism and do not mind to get dirty. We know that you do because you are applying for working with live tigers in Thailand.

Relative studies?

Same as above please state the schools and classes you graduated in or have a diploma.

Previous work as a volunteer and any reference?

Have you ever worked as a volunteer before if so were? Did it have to do with live animals? Is there anyone we can contact? Keep it short and to the point.

How did you found out about the temple?

Google, friend, TV, Magazine or some were else?

How long are you planning to stay?

Please give us an estimate for how long you can stay with us. We really like you to stay as long as possible because it takes time for the Tigers to get used to new people. We will off course accept people that can not stay for a long time as well but we prefer long stay.

Dates of stay please give 3 options?

If you can tell when you are planning to come or when you can come. This is not a set date just an estimate what your plans are. We can then plan if there is any space for you to come and work here at that time.

I can no longer work as a volunteer please delete my profile?

If you no longer can come and work with us please delete your profile. It is important that we keep the information updates so that people that can work will have the chance. If you want to apply again you can do so. You only need to state Name and email.
